CHEMISTRY:

There is chemistry everywhere around us. The possibilities are unlimited if we understand how medications interact with our bodies, how we impact the environment, and how contemporary materials like plastic and semiconductors are made. For our contemporary civilization, it is essential to learn about the fundamentals of chemistry, including the examination of molecules and their structures, forms, and reactions. Chemists can actually alter the course of history! Learn how chemistry applies to every part of our life by studying it in B.Sc./M.Sc. Chemistry.

MATHEMATICS:

A genuinely universal language is mathematics. It supports the fields of science, technology, and engineering, expanding our knowledge and enabling us to make ground-breaking discoveries. Without mathematics, chess world champions could not be defeated by computers, the artificial intelligence revolution would not be possible, and transportation systems would come to a halt.

B.Sc./M.Sc. Mathematics is intended to provide you a solid foundation in the fundamentals of mathematics as well as a thorough comprehension of abstract mathematical ideas, logical reasoning, and deductive thinking. Your comprehension of the coherence, logical structure, and broad applications of mathematics will be able to be developed as a result of the course's design, which will expose you to the key fields of mathematics. You also learn the benefits of employing mathematical resources and tools for research and in-depth study, and you get the chance to model a variety of processes and evaluate numerical data.

BOTANY:

It's an exciting moment to be a plant scientist, regardless of your interests in pure or applied research or whether you want to study at the environmental, organismal, or molecular level.

To ensure supplies of food, fibre, and industrial feedstock, we must create sustainable systems of plant production in addition to maintaining biodiversity. Additionally, plant science is a leader in the rapidly developing fields of bioenergy and synthetic biology. With B.Sc./M.Sc. Botany, you may investigate plant development through experiments. You'll understand how plants develop, reproduce, and change through time in order to adapt to their environment. We will study every aspect of plant biology, from enzymes to ecosystems. The different kinds of plants, their evolution, and how they function will all be covered, as well as the most recent findings in functional genomics, bioinformatics, plant developmental biology, plant pathology, parasite biology, cell signalling, pollination biology, ecology, plant conservation, and systems biology.

You'll look into how plants: Grow and develop react to and engage with their surroundings, evolve, and diversity Investigate several exciting features of modern plant science, such as: o genetic engineering o interactions between diseases and plants

ZOOLOGY:

We think you should be knowledgeable with the depth and breadth of animal biology, from the molecular to the ecological, as modern zoology is multidisciplinary. Our zoology programme starts off broadly before offering more options in years two and three.

You will be able to customise your course to fit your interests and decide whether to focus on one area of study or keep your education broad. A practical research project and a week-long field or lab-based course in a variety of topic areas are available. Your employability as a graduate will be improved by the variety of research and transferrable skills you will master.

On residential field excursions, you'll acquire fieldwork skills while learning in-depth information about how animals function. You'll also develop important lab skills in molecular biology, physiology, and cell biology that are valued by employers.

Additionally, you'll acquire the knowledge and abilities necessary to become a qualified zoologist, work in a variety of fields, or pursue higher education. In our Zoology BSc (Hons) program, you can join Charles Darwin, Dian Fossey, Jane Goodall, and David Attenborough in discovering and explaining the diversity of animals from all over the world. You will learn more about the importance of wildlife conservation as well as the fields of behavior, genetics, ecology, and evolution.

As part of your studies, you'll get the chance to hone your practical zoology skills by spending a lot of time in our labs in Cambridge and going on field trips all over India and beyond. Your employment prospects as a zoology student are as numerous as the assortment of creatures you will study.

We will support you throughout your degree to make sure that by the time you graduate, you'll be on the path to the job of your choosing, whether you want to work as a research scientist or in the area of conservation.

BIOCHEMISTRY:

Do you care deeply about life and the state of the human race? The chemical foundation of life is studied by biochemists.

This aids practical scientific fields like drug discovery, diagnostics, and biotechnology and also serves as the foundation for our basic knowledge of human health and illness. In our biochemistry programme, you will be immersed in cutting-edge research and have the chance to acquire advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities that will prepare you for a wide variety of occupations.

Our biochemists are experts in a variety of subjects, such as cancer and human illness. Through extra courses and research projects, you may tailor the course to concentrate on the particular biochemistry topics that interest you.

BIOTECHNOLOGY:

By altering the genetic makeup of living cells, biotechnology is a field that combines biological science and technology to create novel goods. Our quality of life and the environment in which we live are impacted by biotechnology. Biotechnologists concentrate on problems in the areas of healthcare, energy, environment, food, and agriculture in order to: develop new life-saving medications; feed expanding populations by creating plants with better nutritional value; reduce greenhouse gas emissions by providing cleaner biofuels.

You can take courses in microbial, plant, and animal biotechnology as part of this: Animals: Understanding the physiology and nutrition of animals will help us use new technologies like CRISPR to improve growth, welfare, and the development of new disease treatments.

Microbial: We must learn how to use microorganisms in medicine, food, pharmaceuticals, and the environment. Plant: We must genetically modify plants to increase crop growth and make them disease resistant. You can select the areas of biotechnology that most appeal to you during your degree.

MICROBIOLOGY:

A vital but sometimes ignored element of life are microorganisms. They are the underlying factors in many diseases and may be exploited to produce a range of useful goods, including antibiotics and other treatments. Microbes are crucial to the functioning of agricultural systems and a number of ecosystem functions. They may be used to detoxify polluted areas and are essential models for understanding biological processes.

FOOD AND NUTRITION:

Our human nutrition degree is designed to equip you with the scientific knowledge and skills necessary to understand the connection between diet, health and illness. You'll be able to educate people about the value of diet and diseases linked to poor nutrition after finishing our degree programme in human nutrition, enhancing their wellbeing.

Your course of study will begin with the basic topics, which include an introduction to biochemistry, biology, and physiology, chemistry for life science, and the fundamentals of nutrition. As the course progresses, you will be introduced to areas that are more specialised and complex, such as clinical, human, and public health nutrition. You will also develop your communication skills so you can convince others of the value of nutrition and food and how it may improve their health.

Students will be prepared for careers in the food industry, academia, research, healthcare, teaching, and sport and exercise nutrition through this course, which has been accredited by the Association for Nutrition.
