Certificate in Media Perspective and Understanding promotes the multidisciplinary and transmedia study, primarily focusing on sound and screen media (television, new media, film, popular music, radio, and video games) and extending across boundaries. It draws on various cultural theories that address various issues, many of which are fundamentally pertinent to how sound and screen media operate in a diverse and more globalizing cultural milieu.

This certificate program will prepare you for professional options in the news, global media, advertising, strategic communication, international business, politics, and diplomacy.

The main goal of this course is to give students an interdisciplinary understanding of how to connect the fundamental social concepts of society and media, as well as a broader perspective on how to join the process of social change with media and the transformation of media as a medium and tool with social evolution.

This course, Media Perspective and Understanding, focuses on understanding the two-way flow of how media as an institution has shaped society. The modern social trends that have evolved as a result of media engagement and the types of difficulties and problems they raise will also be introduced to the students.

Most importantly, the students will be exposed to various essential domains that have been critical components of societal change brought about by the media.

Our students develop into well-rounded observers of global media, communication, and politics who are prepared to apply their knowledge in various settings.

We look at how media companies produce and spread cultural forms and how those forms are experienced by people locally, globally, and nationally.
