Talented paramedics with the ability to administer a broader range of treatments in emergency and unscheduled care situations are in great demand across the health sector.

The degree allows you to acquire a wide range of clinical skills each year, reinforced by academic knowledge. The emphasis is on primary care and outpatient emergency care settings to prepare you for challenging careers on the front line of emergency treatment.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS COURSE

Explore the philosophy of paramedic practice and the topics that underpin it, working with highly supportive academics who are all qualified paramedics.

Learning in the course is split between theory and clinical practise. The two elements will be tightly interwoven to make it easier for students to learn from real-world experience in the classroom and successfully apply their theoretical knowledge to practical situations.

Work-based training in the emergency ambulance service and acute hospital trusts is built-in. Simulation and role-play in specialized onsite facilities enhance your abilities and prepare you for working in the field.

You'll study several clinical scenarios seen in the out-of-hospital context and obtain knowledge, clinical skills, and behaviors for patient evaluation and appropriate treatments.

You'll also be prepared for clinical practice, where a clinical practice educator will support and supervise you to develop the interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities you'll need to give safe and effective patient care.

A range of teaching and learning techniques will be employed to meet the unique requirements of each student enrolled in the programme.

A few examples of these methods are lectures, seminars, workshops, group activities, self-evaluation, case studies, reflective accounts, library-based resources, skills sessions, virtual learning, peer to peer learning, high fidelity simulation, and practice-based learning.

Additionally, the course provides a buddy system for students in various cohorts.

One of the seven Ayush systems, Ayurveda, is known as the "science of life." It has long been a crucial component of India's extensive natural healthcare system. Its foundation is health and wellbeing, with the idea that good health is a delicate balance between the mind, body, and soul. In Ayurveda, treatments include Panchakarma, Shamana (the use of Ayurvedic medicines), and the use of drugs, nutrition, and lifestyle changes (treatment involving five purification methods to eliminate the aggravated doshas)
